13.9.12

Warhol has seemed to be everywhere this month.  Target and Campbell's are selling soup-cans (and what's inside) to celebrate the half-century since Andy produced his pop art icon. His foundation is selling off their stash of his art. Now the august Metropolitan Museum of Art has an exhibition of Warhol that gives him (too much?) credit for the last generation of artist creativity.

I like Warhol's story more than most of his art. It is a compelling narrative which contrasts with a fascinating but fluffy oeuvre.
