Mark Rothko's No. 1 (Royal Red and Blue) 1954, above, sold yesterday at Sotheby's for $75.1 million. At the same auction Jackson Pollack's Number 4, 1951 (below), sold for a record setting $40,402,500.  Franz Kline's Shenandoah (further below) also set an artist's record for sales price.
