This morning I finally made it to the Phillips Collection for the Georges Braque show. It is big... and given its size -- for me -- repetitive. It is nonetheless wonderfully curated. I learned a great deal regarding context, artistic technique, and various influences. But Braque's persistent attention to still life interiors contains my enthusiasm.
While I was in the building I took the opportunity to stand alone in the Rothko Room. For me these pieces and space are much more sacred than the chapel in Houston.
