My photography and poetry are both predisposed to claiming (finding? retrieving? composing?) beauty from what many might find unlikely contexts. This perspective is not meant to deny what is ugly and awful, but to remain open to the whole reality.  Too often in trying to avoid the bad, we also exclude the good.
